Conflict of Interest Policy

Journal of Cancer Research and Reviews is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and objectivity in scientific research and publication. This policy outlines our approach to identifying, managing, and mitigating conflicts of interest to ensure the credibility and reliability of the content we publish.

1. Definition of Conflict of Interest

A conflict of interest arises when the personal, financial, or professional interests of individuals involved in the publication process may compromise—or appear to compromise—the objectivity, integrity, or impartiality of the research and its dissemination.

Conflicts of interest may involve authors, editors, reviewers, or any other party participating in the publication process.

2. Author Responsibilities

2.1 Disclosure

Authors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the research, interpretation, or presentation of their work. This includes financial relationships, institutional affiliations, or personal connections that may be perceived to affect the research.

2.2 Transparency in Funding

Authors must clearly state all sources of funding, including grants, sponsorships, or other financial support. This transparency allows readers and reviewers to assess any potential influence on the research.

2.3 Conflict Management

If a conflict of interest exists, authors should ensure full transparency by including appropriate disclosure statements in the manuscript and taking reasonable steps to minimize potential bias.

3. Editor Responsibilities

3.1 Objective Evaluation

Editors are responsible for evaluating manuscripts based solely on scientific merit, without influence from personal or financial relationships.

3.2 Recusal

Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest. In such cases, the manuscript will be reassigned to another qualified editor.

3.3 Fair Decision-Making

Editorial decisions must be independent, unbiased, and based on the quality, originality, and relevance of the work.

4. Reviewer Responsibilities

4.1 Impartial Assessment

Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively and avoid any bias related to personal, financial, or professional interests.

4.2 Disclosure of Conflicts

Reviewers are required to disclose any conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment. If a conflict arises during the review process, it must be reported immediately to the editor.

4.3 Confidentiality

All manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not use unpublished information for personal advantage.

5. Publisher Responsibilities

5.1 Transparency

The publisher is committed to transparency in all publishing operations and will disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect the editorial process.

5.2 Editorial Independence

The publisher ensures that editorial decisions remain independent and are not influenced by financial, commercial, or external interests.

6. Conflict Resolution

6.1 Resolution Process

When a conflict of interest is identified, the journal will investigate the matter thoroughly and take appropriate action, which may include additional review, disclosure, or rejection of the manuscript.

6.2 Editorial Oversight

The editorial board may be consulted to ensure fair and unbiased resolution of conflicts at any stage of the publication process.

7. Policy Review

This policy is reviewed periodically to ensure alignment with international best practices and ethical standards in scholarly publishing.
